Eugène Boudin (1824-1898) was born in Honfleur and grew up in Le Havre. It was the sky and sea that inspired much of his work and, through the paintings presented in this book, we see how his fascination with light and its infinite possibilities took him on a journey – from Holland to Venice, and from Normandy to the South of France – that brought him to the gate of Impressionism.
